Disobedient Objects // V&A

As part of our dissertation research, we took a class visit to the Victoria & Albert Museum in London to see the 'Disobedient Objects' exhibition.

The art on display has a strong sense of urgency and almost feels 'rushed'.

The rough wooden boards and cardboard canvases used sit well with the defiant and rebellious atmosphere of this exhibition, along with the videos of violent protests being projected onto the walls.

"From Suffragette teapots to protest robots, this exhibition is the first to examine the powerful role of objects in movements for social change."

"It demonstrates how political activism drives a wealth of design ingenuity and collective creativity that defy standard definitions of art and design."

The Disobedient Objects exhibition is running from July 26th 2014 - February 1st 2015 with free admission.
